Families from a South Asian background have been targeted for burglaries in the area with jewellery and gold being the target. Anyone who keeps expensive jewellery at home, keep it in a locked draw, or a home safe. Where possible keeping such items outside of the property in places that offer a ‘safety deposit box ‘ system is preferred.
Now that it is dark in the early hours of the evening, this can be a prime time for burglaries. Lights on timers and tv’s set on sleep timers are ways to give the appearance that someone is home. Security lighting on driveways and rear gardens can also act as prevention. | ||
